Contemporary mosaic creation is lively and supported in particular by young artists around the world. Long relegated to a practice of decoration or restoration of historical monuments, mosaic is today invested by artists who reinvent its language, its grammar and thus create truly original works. The creative proliferation observed today around this medium, which has long remained untouched by any research, places this art at a key moment in its history.
MuPa aims to introduce a wide audience to the work of contemporary artists who use mosaic as their medium, and to affirm these artists’ place within the art world. To this end, the association produces exhibitions, organizes artist residencies, and publishes exhibition catalogues and videos. MuPa also collaborates with institutions and other associations in France and abroad on specific projects.
